Amid Bloomberg Alabama Move UN Must Revoke His Greenwashing Post From Guterres

By Matthew Russell Lee, CJR Letter PFT Q&A, NY Post

UN GATE, Nov 7 -- Billionaire Michael Bloomberg, now again flaunting his money as a way to run for or buy political office, has long used the United Nations to promote himself and his idea. In August 2019 however he adopted the censorship of UN Sec-Gen Antonio Guterres, who kept him on as holdover climate change representative without oversight or disclosure.

So now with the Alabama filing, will Bloomberg belatedly have to give up his UN position and fig leaf? Or will Guterres, already corruption, waive even this?

In July when invited Inner City Press accredited media at the IMF and Souther District of New York and elsewhere registered for Bloomberg's "Global Business Forum" in September 2019. It was approved. Then, apparently after Team Bloomberg consulted with corrupt Guterres' UN, this: "Hello Matthew,   We regret that we are unable to grant you a press credential for the Bloomberg Global Business Forum on September 25, 2019. Due to limited space, we are not able to accommodate your request this year...  If you would like to receive alerts and news releases, we would be happy to share additional information.       Best,    The GBF Team."

Inner City Press immediately replied: "This is a formal request that you send all information to Inner City Press, including a list of the media the Bloomberg GDF *does* allow in to cover it. While Inner City Press has been banned by the UN for its critical and investigative coverage, it is accredited at and regularly covers the US Federal courts, the IMF, etc. So since this registration was submitted to Bloomberg GDF at at the earliest possible time, this is a request to be informed of the basis of non-accreditation and a list, in real time, of which media Bloomberg GDF does allow in, the basis and criteria used.   Please confirm receipt and provide all information. Thank you in advance."

Days later, a response: "From: Press - Bloomberg GBF <press@bloomberggbf.com> Date: Mon, Aug 5, 2019 at 11:51 AM Subject: Re: Formal requests Re: REGISTRATION UPDATE: BLOOMBERG GLOBAL BUSINESS FORUM 2019 To: Matthew R. Lee  Cc: funca  Hi Matthew,   We do not disclose the criteria required nor the list of media who are approved to attend the Bloomberg Global Business Forum. But, do to extreme space constraints, we are unable." Do to? And what kind of organization refuses to disclose its criteria? We'll have more on this.

The UN of Antonio Guterres hit a new low on July 26. After roughing up and banning Inner City Press, now 389 days, and refusing to answer its written questions below, the UN noon briefing on July 26 had not a single in-person question.

Not one. Transcript here; "That’s it from me. Are there any questions?  All right.  Over to you, Monica."

More here.
