As Blinken Heads to Ramallah US Cites UN 8 Times But Nothing to Hold SG Accountable

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Song
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 24 – With US Secretary of State Antony Blinken heading to the Middle East, the State Department held an embargoed and on-background press briefing on May 24 from 8:30 to 9 am. In this half hour, a self-described senior official used the words "United Nations" at least eight times (contrasted to no mentions of the UN when Blinken was interviewed on This Week ABC on Sunday).

But given these eight citations or name-checks, how can it be that the Administration is doing nothing to hold to account not only UNRWA (see UN leadership having too much FUN-RWA at UNRWA) but also UNSG Antonio Guterres, who after omitting his links to UN bribery firm CEFC China Energy and banning Inner City Press which asked and asks, is poised to grab five more years for failure? We'll have more on this - and on this trip:

"Secretary Blinken is undertaking this trip at the request of President Biden. He will first travel to Jerusalem, where he will meet with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, and other senior Israeli officials. In Ramallah, he will meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh, and other senior officials from the Palestinian Authority. Secretary Blinken will then travel to Cairo to meet with President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi." Note: Guterres' UN gave Inner City Press' long time UN work space to a long retired Egypt state media propagandist for El Sisi. And remember Shawkan?

It was UN Security Council circus. After failing all over the world, from #Yemen through #Cameroon to #Burma, on Sunday the UNSC on Sunday May 16 held a belated Zoom meeting on Israel - Palestine, and Inner City Press (banned from the UN for 1049 days) live tweeted it, here and below.

Now on May 22, a canned UNSC Press Statement via China, with USUN's Linda Thomas-Greenfield headed to Ecuador leaving in place corrupt UNSG Antonio Guterres to ban the Press: "The members of the Security Council welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire beginning 21 May and recognized the important role Egypt, other regional countries, the UN, the Middle East Quartet and other international partners played in this regard.  The Security Council called for the full adherence to the ceasefire.       The members of the Security Council mourned the loss of civilian lives resulting from the violence.        The members of the Security Council stressed the immediate need for humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian civilian population, particularly in Gaza, and supported the Secretary General’s call for the international community to work with the United Nations." All this SG cares about it stealing five more years, to steal.

From May 16: First up is corrupt UNSG Guterres.

So  @AntonioGuterres , who's main focus is getting five more years to live alone in the UN mansion, surrounded by Yes-Men and covering up bribes and UN rapes, cries a crocodile tear for AP in Gaza. But he ordered Press roughed up and banned from the UN, 1049 days

Here is some video of UNSG  @AntonioGuterres ' security thugs' treatment of Press, right in the UN, on 3 July 2018 - no punishment, no appeal, ban on Press continues.

Only days ago, UN of  @AntonioGuterres  sent Swiss police to swat the home of a UN whistleblower who, like Inner City Press, has dared put in a CV to trigger a debate before Guterres is given 5 more years to oversee civil death and bribes, here

Next up,  @AntonioGuterres ' envoy Wennesland. Here's banned Inner City Press when Guterres gave him the SRSG post, one Guterres has left vacant for more than two years on #WesternSahara, here

Next up, Malki, who starts: "Allow me to thank China... and the Secretary General."  Before  @AntonioGuterres  to conceal his own corruption had Inner City Press roughed up and banned from the UN, Inner City Press used to ask Malki questions -- Oct 22, 2015 Palestine's Riad Malki; ICP asked him if "veto restraint" for war crimes would ban veto on #GazaWar

Malki today: "Israel keeps saying, Put yourself in our shoes. But Israel is wearing military boots." He puts the death toll at 200.

Next up: Israel PR, with photo of "victim of Hamas," which is compares to ISIS. [Inner City Press coverage here] Says he called his elderly parents in southern Israel "who have just 30 seconds to get into a bomb shelter."

Next up: Jordan. Is Room Rater going to weigh in on the speakers in this useless meeting of the UN Security Council, which has never met once on, for example, the mass killing of civilians by the govt of #Cameroon, like it failed on #SriLanka before?

Next up in UNSC circus: #Egypt, from a luxury hotel room, it seems. Inner City Press room rater 2 of 10, especially in light of hypocrisy on protection of journalists and press freedom here.

Next up: China. Inner City Press will forego Room Rating, as Chinese foreign minister just said "force can never bring piece." #Xinjiang #Taiwan #Tibet. Calls out US on press statement block. Oh, and at UN, China's Ambassador blocks Inner City Press on Twitter

Next up: Tunisia. Room rating? 4/10, good signage, lacking in personality. Oh and here's Tunisia UNESCO corruption, here, @AntonioGuterres  covering up sexual abuse by Tunisia "peacekeeper" here.

Next up: Norway, with UN flag, as its big wig Roed-Larsen was getting down with Jeffrey Epstein, & its UN Ambassador  @Mona_Juul  colludes in  @AntonioGuterres ' ban on Inner City Press and has not answered Inner City Press' questions.  2 of 10.

Next up: Ireland. Points for use of Gaeilge ("Rialtas na hÉireann") & 3 flags.  @irishmissionun  hasn't done anything about  @AntonioGuterres ' ban of Inner City Press, while FM talks about press freedom (hypocrisy), but in terms of room, highest rating so far: 5/10. Matthew Russell Lee and 3 others

Next up:  @LindaT_G  of  @USUN , who says "in the hours since the UNSC met on this topic." What, a Saturday meeting? Blinken's to Denmark; Administration so far allowing  @AntonioGuterres  to censor Press & block opponents. As on #Honduras, #fail

Next up: Russia Deputy FM, going after US Ambassador (due to her being on Cabinet). Drab wood paneling, but double credit for double-headed eagle coat of arms. Rating: 4 of 10

Next up: Estonia (which China, at least in translation, calls Ass-tonia) - points lost for white walls, and  @EstoniaUN  has done nothing on, and therefore colludes in,  @AntonioGuterres ' ban of Inner City Press. Why not flash some blockchain, at least? Rating: 1/10

Next up: Viet Nam. Points for ASEAN flag, and bookshelves behind. Amateur use of teleprompter, and needless to say support for censorship by  @AntonioGuterres , as on Mother Mushroom (here) resulting in precise rating of 3.5 out of 10

Next up: Mexico, drag come-down from  Andrés Manuel López Obrador's heavy wood to UNGA. Also, side-eye at TelePrompter, and sadly no action (yet?) on  @AntonioGuterres ' ban on Inner City Press. Con esperanza, pues, too close to US and far from God, rating of 2/10

Next up: China gives the floor to Kenya, just as #Kenya may have to give its railroads and more to China. Inner City Press coverage here.  Presentation broken up by tech glitch and screen of UN's compromised platform. Sympathy rating: 3/10

Next up (or down) -  @UKUN_NewYork 's  @BWoodward_UN  glancing straight down at TelePrompter, as she refused to answer any Inner City Press questions nor circulate its & others' CVs. Loud background noise! UNderperformer, so far, Vogue notwithstanding. Rating: 1/10

Entering UN Security Council circus garbage time, world's largest democracy has drab background and, notably, no mention of #COVID (RIP). 2/10. And Niger, which first brought COVID into the UN which has been essentially closed since. 3/10.

Next up: St Vincent & the Grenadines. Big plant but terrible sound quality. Inner City Press exposed NYPD detention of previous Ambassador Camillo Gonsalves (here) but Mission did nothing when  @AntonioGuterres  had Inner City Press roughed up. 3/10

Next up:  @FranceONU 's  @NDeRiviere . Workman-like, with photocopy paper & water-cooler (the talk around which apparently does not include Paul Biya's slaughter of civilians in #Cameroon). Good use of "demarche," but colludes in ban of Inner City Press; rating 3/10

Next up (now Antonio Guterres  left the Zoom meeting, apparently has some bribery or cover-up meeting or Big Lunch for Big Tony to attend) - it's Algeria. Clear winner on house plants. No mention of Western
Sahara, censorship goes without saying. Rating: 4/10

We're past the member states, to UN rep of the League of Arab States. He was Egypt's Ambassador & head of G-77, used that post to get a UN post as Special Adviser on Africa, now still in NY for LAS. Points for careerism, downgrade for Venetian blinds; rating 2/10

At the end, China (whose Ambassador blocks Inner City Press blocks Inner City Press) bragged that it was an open meeting and all should now engage constructively. Watch this site.
