Woman Sued NYC Hospitals For Discrimination Now Released Lawyer Wants Quantum Meruit

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Maxwell Book
BBC-Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN NY Mag

SDNY COURTHOUSE, June 30 – Melissa Kaye sued the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation for gender discrimination. Then she wanted to fire her lawyer, Ms. Special Hagen.

On June 29, 2022 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge John P. Cronan held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

Ms. Hagen got her motion to withdraw granted - then said she plans to file a liens or sue under quantum meruit.

Judge Cronan said if so, she must show why such a filing in appropriate in this case, rather than in a collateral action.

The case is Kaye v. New York City Health And Hospitals Corporation, 18-cv-12137 (Cronan)
