By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, August 5 – A group of defendants is charged with a romance fraud and money laundering scheming using aliases such as Diego Fransisco who claims he worked on an oil well and needed funds to repair the well.

On August 5, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Katherine Polk Failla held arraignments. Inner City Press covered it.

The defendants, with one defense counsel not in attendance, pleaded not guilty.

Another defense lawyer apologized for appearing on Zoom from his car. Judge Failla said during the pandemic she's seem lawyers's kids wandering through.

This case was put back to November 2 - Election Day - at 4 pm.

We'll get together after you vote, Judge Failla said.

The case is US v. Felix, et al., 21-cr-472 (Failla)
