Rockland Car Crash Triggers SDNY Fee Hearing On Zoom or Skype Amid COVID

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Nov 16 – A car crash involving a 2014 KIA in Chestnut Ridge in Rockland County in March 2017 is still reverberating, in late 2020.

On November 16, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Steward D. Aaron held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

In the run up to a hearing that will apparently involve Zoom, only the plaintiff's former lawyer appears.

Judge Aaron nevertheless arranged for a December 4 hearing on "the fee-related dispute," asking the parties to file a joint letter by November 23 about whether they intend to use Zoom or Skype.

The case is SDA Punter-Spencer v. Irving et al., 18-cv-1959 (Aaron)
