Man Sued Episcopal Church Pension Group Which Now Seeks More Redactions at SDNY

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, June 28 – William F. Murray filed a lawsuit against Church Pension Group Services Corporation - but entirely under seal. It was called ABC versus DEF.

On June 25, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Lewis J. Liman held a proceeding. Inner City Press called in to cover it.

Judge Liman asked both sides' counsel why they had not acted on his May 27 order in the docket. Both said they hadn't seen it.

A summary was given, about Murray saving CPGSC (according to him), and filing a malpractice lawsuit against one of the firm's outside counsel, without the consent of the Legal Department.

On June 28, the defendant filed a redacted letter asking for, what else, redactions, based on opinions of counsel - but it appears to be more about embarrassment at pension losses, "another group's [REDACTED] insurance program."

The case is still officially called ABC v. DEF, 21-cv-2228 (Liman)
