Rekor Systems Sued Friends of CEO For Fraud Sale of Firestorm Now Oct 17 SDNY Trial Date

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 12 – Rekor Systems, Inc. has sued two childhood friends of its CEO for swindling it into buying their business Firestorm Solutions LCC.

On July 26, 2021 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Lewis J. Liman held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

The parties proposed to complete fact discovery by October 28, 2021.

But on February 11, 2022 when the parties reconvened before Judge Liman and Inner City Press again covered it, the talk was of a half-completed deposition. In the docket is a letter about a sealed letter about deposing Lynn Satterfield.  Judge Liman asked for responses on February 15.

On February 15, Judge Liman convened the parties again, and Inner City Press covered it. Again. Counsel asked for time to submit a declaration about Satterfield's chemo therapy. Judge Liman said time had already been given, the record is closed on that, what's wrong with two hours a day for the deposition?

Jump cut to April 12, 2022. Judge Liman finally set a trial date:  October 17, with a final pre-trial conference on October 7 at 3 pm. The trial is estimated for three weeks.

The case is Rekor Systems, Inc. v. Loughlin et al., 19-cv-7767 (Liman)
