After Three Years In Young Adult Opportunity Program Perez Gets Time Served

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - The Source

SDNY COURTHOUSE, June 2 – Andrew Perez was part of a 2017 indictment for selling crack, Percocet in The Bronx. He got into the U.S. District for the Southern District of New York Young Adult Opportunity Program, which Inner City Press wrote about here.

  It served him well.

On June 2 in a sentencing presided over by SDNY Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn but with District Judge Ronnie Abrams as well, Perez asked for and got time served.

The Assistant US Attorney said they defer to the judges, who know the defendant more profoundly than anyone else.

The case is US v. Perez, 17-cr-251 (Abrams / Netburn).
