Death of Pot Seller In Brooklyn Triggers SDNY Trial Amid Puerto Rico Bankruptcy & Murder

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Jan 5 – Kevin Taylor, Gary Robles and Michael Mazur were indicted for the death of Joshua Robin while robbing him of marijuana near 1021 McDonald Avenue, Brooklyn.

On January 5 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Laura Taylor Swain held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

At issue was when to schedule a trial. Judge Swain suggested October or November, noting that she may have to hand it off to another judge given her responsibilities in the Puerto Rico bankruptcy case.

One of the defense counsel countered that he has a multi-defendant Puerto Rico murder trial in the Fall.

The case is US v. Taylor, et al., 20-cr-227 (Swain)
