In SDNY Heroin At Bronx Diner Has Angie Bosquez on Methadone Pleading Guilty 12 Years

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Dec 26 – In April 2018 undercover narcotics purchases in and around a diner on Courtland Avenue and 146th Street in The Bronx resulted in a multi-defendant conspiracy case now before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Victor Marrero.

On October 9, 2019 as reported by Inner City Press here the last of the indictee, Angela Bosquez, appeared in SDNY Magistrates Court to be arraigned on a superseding charge of narcotics conspiracy. She had on interpretation headphones but answered in English when Magistrate Judge Ona T. Wang asked questions.

"Yes, Honor," Ms. Bosquez now a/k/a Angie repeatedly said.     The heroin laced with fentanyl this conspiracy allegedly sold in and around the diner, a block away from a drug rehab, is linked in the original complaint to a number of overdoses, as close at a tenth of a mile away and as far as Loring Place, three miles away.

Many of the glassine envelopes used were marked "Bin Laden." But Angela Bosquez's lone appearance in the initial complaint had her selling three glassines marked "Hello!"

On October 9 Ms. Bosquez was represented by a gentlemanly defense attorney who before Judge Wang appeared told stories of defending Federal cases in Las Cruces, New Mexico and about the dangers of Juarez, Mexico.

He was there again on December 26 when, in an otherwise empty SDNY Magistrates Court, Angela Bosquez pleaded guilty before Magistrate Judge Barbara Moses. She again said "Yes Honor;" this time she said she is on methadone and cannot concentrate. That was not any impediment, apparently. Assistant US Attorney Rodriguez was there; a plea agreement to 151 to 188 months shown. That's more than 12 years. But there is no sentencing date yet, just a control date of April 25.

One of Ms. Bosquez' co-defendants Edward Torres is notably represented by Milbank partner Antonia M. Apps. Inner City Press will continue to follow this case. It is US v. Dones, et al., 19-cr-169 (Marrero).
