EXCLUSIVE, May 2- In the
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
on May 2, a detention or
release proceeding was held by
Magistrate Judge Gabriel W.
Gorenstein on a man who, after
being granted compassionate
release, is now charged with
organized fraud.
Dana
McCann was sentenced to 24
months in Federal prison for a
"fat freezing machine" fraud
in June 20. He later applied
for and got compassionate
release. On May 2, 2022 he was
arrested for organized fraud
in Jacksonville, Florida.
After his Federal Defender
conferred with in the lock-up,
McCann consented to detention.
A May 6 proceeding is set
before Judge Vernon S.
Broderick, who granted the
compassionate release.
