Man Who Moved Drugs From Texas To NY Pleads Guilty in SDNY, Free Pending Sentencing

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Sept 7 – Juan Jose De La Rosa Sanchez was charged with bringing drugs from Texas to New York.

On September 7 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Chief Judge Laura Taylor Swain held a change of plea proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

Judge Swain accepted the guilty plea, and described the factors going into whether defendants are eligible for the safety value.

While the statute calls for automatic remand, the US Attorney's Office was not pushing it, and it did not happen. Sentencing was set for January 4 at 2 pm.

The case is US v. De La Rosa Sanchez et al., 20-cr-621 (Swain)
