By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Maxwell Book
BBC-Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN NY Mag

SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 24 – Uncle Luigi Poli has been civilly sued for sexual abusing two nieces and two nephew from 1973 to 1981 in their grandmother's houuse on Hone Avenue in The Bronx.

On May 24, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn held a conference. Inner City Press covered it.

The case was brought under the NYS Child Victims Act, then removed to Federal court.

Judge Netburn offered a hold a settlement conference on either July 5 or August 1, noting that she has a civil trial in July than might settle.

Discovery is stayed; there is a status letter due by June 3, with a recommendation to ask for a date before then.

The case is Smielowitz et al v. Poli, 22-cv-2695 (Netburn)
