Uber Driver Hit By DOL Car Sues US and Disputes Its Expert For Oct 13 Trial At SDNY

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Oct 6 – Luis Polanco was driving an Uber when it was hit by a Ford owned by the US Department of Labor on 12th Avenue in Manhattan on March 6, 2017. It became a Federal case.

On October 6 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Lewis J. Liman held a final pre-trial conference. Inner City Press covered it.

Polanco is arguing that the US' expert witnesses, mechanical engineer David J. Bizzak, is not qualified under Daubert (mis-spelled Duabert in his motion in limine).

The bench trial is set to begin on October 13.

The case is Polanco v. United States of America, 19-cv-1409 (Liman)
