Man Charged in 2010 Now Pleads To Misprision of Felony After Revolving Door Affidavit

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Feb 24 – Juan Carlos Ferrera was prosecuted on cocaine charges in 2010.

Now eleven years later, he has pleaded guilty to misprision of felony. An issue is how the immigration consequences were explained to him, in the past.

On February 24, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Valerie E. Caproni held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

In the docket is a declaration by Justin Anderson, now as Paul Weiss but in 2010 an SDNY prosecutor, stating that "I recall that during my time as a narcotics prosecutor, we arrived at dispositions for specifically narcotics trafficking cases that included felony pleas to misprision of a felony."

The case is US v. Marroquin-Corzo et al., 10-cr-892 (Caproni)
