Major Model Management Sued By Jasmine Burgess Now Wants to Move to Dismiss

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Feb 1 – Jasmine Burgess sued Major Model Management for not paying her minimum wage.

On December 1, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Gregory H. Woods held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

The modeling agency says it was up to Burgess to find work. Judge Woods inquired into whether the contract was with Burgess or her LLP.

Her lawyer said she set up an LLP because she heard it was the thing to do, but hasn't used it.

On February 1, Judge Woods held another proceeding, and Inner City Press again covered it. The defendant is saying the claims are inconsistent, alleging employer / employee relationship and then denying it. Judge Woods said to file the motion to dismiss by February 25.

The case is Burgess v. Major Model Management, Inc. et al., 20-cv-2816 (Woods)
