Sims Sued For Use of Endless Minds Song In Focus Now Lawyer on 2 Calls At Once

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 9 – Andre Sims says his song "Endless Minds" was ripped off for "Focus" by Justin Anthony Barroso and Gabriella Wilson. And he has sued.

On December 17 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Gregory H. Woods held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

Sims hired a musicologist who "determined Endless Minds as the melody for "Focus."

His lawyer says there have been some settlement discussions. Judge Woods pushed deadlines back for there to be more settlement discussions.

On March 9, Judge Woods held another proceeding. Inner City Press called in to cover it. It emerged that one of the lawyers was participating in telephone proceedings in two unrelated cases at once. Judge Woods gave the floor to the less distracted lawyer.

In the docket are discovery materials, which Inner City Press doesn't mind but the Court, it seems, does.

The case is  Sims v. Sony Music Entertainment et al., 20-cv-5322 (Woods)
