April 5 – Oludotun
Akinde sued Harlem Hospital
after complaining to it that
three of its staff were in
front of his house in Mount
Vernon, having previously
complained about
discrimination.
On January
12 U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Gregory H. Woods held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
Harlem Hospital's
Corporation Counsel argued
about discovery problems,
noting that the plaintiff's
pro bono counsel had withdrawn
and canceled deposition.
There was talk
about documents in a drawer or
an iCloud - what is that, it
was asked - and a progression
toward a summary judgment
motion.
On April 5 Judge
Woods held another proceeding,
and Inner City Press again
covered it. Judge Woods
re-opened discovery since the
hospital had neglected to
search for paper as well as
electronic records. But Akinde
said he can't afford any more
depositions, and wanted to
move on to the the summary
judgment motion immediately,
today.
Parties in
the next case before Judge
Woods had called in -- one
said, Who else is there? --
and so the matter was put
over.
