SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Feb 5 – Peter Coates was
convicted on November 15, 1990
of attempted robbery in
Brooklyn.
He was charged in
2005 as a felon in possession
of a firearm, a loaded .45
caliber Fabrinor-Victoria
Firestorm semiautomatic, and
pled guilty on January 19,
2007 before then U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge George A.
Yanthis.
On January 12,
2012, SDNY Judge Alvin K.
Hellerstein sentenced Coates
to another 10 months in the
Butner facilities, for a
Violation of Supervised
Release (VOSR), petit larceny
under New York State penal Law
Section 155.25.
Judge Hellerstein
sentenced him again, to eight
months starting December 12,
2013 for failure to comply
with substance abuse testing.
On
February 5, 2020 Coates
reappeared before SDNY
Magistrate Judge Sarah
Netburn, on another VOSR. His
lawyer consented to his
detention before a scheduled
February 12 appearance before
Judge Hellerstein. Inner City
