Discovery Request For Use in Israel Case Reaches Agreement in SDNY Amid Questions

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 26 – Joseph Benkel filed a petition for discovery against Levy Holm Pellegrino & Drath, LLP  for use in foreign proceedings in Israel.

On April 26, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Paul A. Engelmayer held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

Very early in the proceeding a lawyer cut in to say agreement had been reached.

Judge Engelmayer said usually he would have admonished the breaking in (it makes it hard to transcribe telephonic proceedings), but here he welcomed it.

Then he asked questions to make sure there actually was a meeting of the minds.

The case is Benkel v. Levy Holm Pellegrino & Drath, LLP, 20-mc-248 (Engelmayer)
