By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Nov 13 – Alberto Borges is 31 and came up for sentencing on November 12.

U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Valerie E. Caproni held the sentencing. Inner City Press covered it.

Judge Caproni heard about, then asked about, a series of violent assaults including in jail. Borges' lawyer said he had to do it, to not back down. Borges when asked declined to speak.

Judge Caproni said she had never seen a record like this, and sentenced Borges to 17 years in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release.

The case is US v. Borges, 19-cr-862 (Caproni)
