Amid UNDP Scandal Steiner Tells Staff What To Say As SG Guterres and Fleming Cover Up

By Matthew Russell Lee, Exclusive Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Dec 6 – The corruption of today's UN, and the roles of SG Antonio Guterres and his Melissa Fleming in censoring Press to get compliant state media to not report it, was brought to the fore against last week.

On November 30 Inner City Press, banned over 880 days under Guterres, in writing asked him, Fleming and UN Spokespeople Stephane Dujarric, Farhan Haq, Eri Kaneko and Florencia Soto Nino:

"On SG Guterres' climate and UN claims, what are his comments and actions if any on the GEF-funded UNDP project in Uzbekistan which was warned that financial information provided by the UNDP was not reliable and “must be questioned... As a further result, this [midterm review] is required, by UNDP guidelines, to refer this project for a fraud investigation,' the report said."

No answer at all, even as UNDP's Achim Steiner (as leaked to and now exclusively published by Inner City Press, wrote / ordered silence from staff:

"From: Achim Steiner  Date: Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 9:13 AM Mourad Wahba, Michele Candotti, Pradeep Kurukulasuriya, Dylan Lowthian, Boaz Paldi

Dear colleagues,     I am writing regarding  an article published this morning in the Financial Times (attached) referring to allegations of mismanagement and misconduct related to our GEF portfolio.     The link to our published statement in response to this issue is here.

Any media enquiries you receive should be directed to this published statement. If you need further advice and guidance, please contact Dylan Lowthian and Boaz Paldi.

The statement can also be shared in response to queries from our partners.     It is important that you know that UNDP is working actively and urgently to tackle these allegations. We have a strong system in place to receive internal and external allegations of financial mismanagement and other irregularities and we take these allegations – and all allegations – of fraud and corruption very seriously....

Both the audit report and the independent review will be finalized shortly and will be shared with the Executive Board We have already initiated a series of management actions in response to the initial findings related to the OAI audit with 57% of the management actions (21 actions) being implemented before the end of January 2021, 32% by June 2021 (12 actions), and 11% (4 action items) by December 2021.  89% of the most critical actions have been purposefully fast tracked. These include strengthening our monitoring and oversight frameworks of GEF projects – in particular high risk projects – and escalating risks to the UNDP Senior level Risk Committee for further action as needed.  Kind regards  Achim Steiner ."

Yeah. And on December 1 when Fleming conduct a faux Q&A with Steiner, Mark Lowcock, Michele Bachelet and others, there was no mention of this UN scandal, nor Guterres' UNdisclosed and still UNexplained links with UN briber CEFC China Energy, and failure in Cameroon and elsewhere. This is propaganda and censorship with public funds - corrupt.
