UNESCO Impacted By Coronavirus amidst Info Blackout by Azoulay As Guterres Lies in NYC

By Matthew Russell Lee & sources, Exclusive

UN GATE, Jan 30 – The entire world is coping with the coronavirus pandemic. More than 100 million people worldwide have had COVID-19 and over 2.2 million have died since the first case was reported just over a year ago, in China, on December 31, 2019.

At the UN in New York, Guterres flew on vacation to Lisbon, then cut the line for vaccination on his return.  At UNESCO since her election in 2017, the French DG Audrey Azoulay often proved useless. Now scandalous disorder is added to the functioning of her hopeless administrations.

Staff and ambassadors are uninformed about the COVID speedy propagation in the Agency. Thus, with the complicity of EU ambassadors, Azoulay may lie, distort, deceive, exaggerate, coerce, threaten, or resort to all out abuse of power and still be unsanctioned in her poor management of UNESCO.

Two weeks ago, the staff of KMI (informatics service) was instructed to work over the weekend on the upgrading of the mainframe security systems, following a breach in security of the information networks.

As a result, some twelve staff members got infected, including the newly appointed Director KMI.

Following this eruption of new cases, yesterday, the internal task force on COVID-19 was convened urgently under the chairmanship of ADG/Admin, Nicholas Jeffreys.

The statistics announced by the medical service were self-evident - with more than one hundred staff members infected, several of them hospitalized in intensive care units in Paris, and one of them in a critical condition -, the UNESCO leadership is in deep trouble.

For that reason, on January 28 the catchphrase imposed by Jeffreys was to hide the fact that the staff is getting more and more infected, far beyond the anticipations of the administration.

The main priority is therefore to deny any risks of infection for ambassadors and representatives of member states in order to dilute the criticism against the lack of care for staff and escape accountability, if some of them were to pass away.

The next priority is to put the blame on KMI staff who worked together over the weekend.  The crisishit the corrupted UNESCO unprepared.

Since the outset, in 2020, DG Azoulay was downplaying the coronavirus risks. Even worse, she allowed a fashion week show with Italian participants to be maintained and held at UNESCO’s premises when Italy was at the hearth of the COVID outburst. By incompetence and greed, DG Azoulay jeopardized the lives of staff members but also of permanent representatives of member states.

The Cabinet of Azoulay did not take the threat ofCOVID-19 seriously. Instead of preparing the institution for it, nasty jokes were made at internal meetings by ADG/ADM Nicholas Jeffreys and Director Cabinet Kacyanides about the coronavirus being a “great opportunity for getting rid once and for all of ambassadors criticizing the French DG Azoulay and of staffprotesting against their current working conditions…”.

This week, still no internal release of information about the recent alarming COVID developments at UNESCO. The staff unions are not associated with the information-sharing internal processes and the medical service is under the imperative instruction from the Cabinet not to disclose any information on that issue in order to avoid panic and complaints.

This is another blatant example of how the top management of UNESCO is running away from its institutional responsibility while getting fat salaries paid by tax-payers world-wide.

The current situation at UNESCO is obviously highly alarming, but it’s still not enough for the ambassadors to UNESCO to start asking questions about the rotten management style of the French DG Azoulay.

Azoulay and her popinjay Frimin Matoko, the ADG for external relations, did not even bother to inform member states about the severe COVID situation during the 210 session of the Executive board that ended two days ago. They consider unimportant to notify permanent delegations accredited to UNESCO even now.

After climbing the reputation of the most corrupt Assistant DG in the Agency, the “yes-man” of the French regime Firm in Matoko, who was supposed to retire and leave the Paris based Agency, got an extension of his contract by DG Azoulay against the regulations so that he can “keep demonstrating his high standards of brain-sterility and docile incompetence” for few more months, as signaled by one of his colleagues.

The pending question that no member state dares yet to ask publicly is how come UNESCO became such a disaster in only one French mandate and why member states allowed the UN intellectual agency to reach that level of criminal foolhardiness in 3 years.   We will have more on that. Watch this site.
