On Tajik Conflict UN Refuses Press Questions, Sends Bought Off Opponent As 1-Man Debate

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 30 – How corrupt and undemocratic is today's United Nations?

Well, now that Antonio Guterres is pushing for a second five-year term, while banning the Press for the 1033rd day for daring to ask about his finances and failures, he has collaborators.

Guterres and his spokesman now refuse Inner City Press' questions about newly arising conflicts, like Kyrgyzstan - Tajikistan. Even banned from the UN, beyond leaks, things come in like this:

Dear Matthew Russell Lee, Hope this email finds your well.   The clashes broke out in the area on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. As reported by locals, dozens of houses were set on fire in several villages near to border. There was also an attack on a border post and the building was burned down. Residents of these villages were relocated to the district center, Isfana. So far, they have not returned home. Citizens of Tajikistan took hostage the head of a Kyrgyz village. Hundreds of people have been evacuated from adjacent villages, 13 Kyrgyz citizens died, several injureds in Batken and Leilek regions. The tension between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are being left fierce.   In order to disseminate reliable information worldwide, being as a media platform in Kyrgyzstan that provides reliable, quality news, we would like to offer a cooperation.   We can provide you with well-grounded information from the original place of the clash and breaking news.   The information provided will refer to only reliable and official sources that retain its best reliability and quality.   We hope that you are on the side of justice and cooperate to disseminate reliable information."  But the UN won't answer, to confirm or deny. Instead they sent Natalia Gherman, who previously opposed Guterres and then was bought of with a publicly funded job. Guterres must go.

The current President of the General Assembly Volkan Bozkir, a strongman from Turkey who due to his bigoted comments even pro-UN New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio wouldn't meet with, has the duty of circulating letters from candidates.

But throughout February, March and now April 2021, Bozkir refused to circulate any letters or CVs. Now on April 27 his spokesman Brenden Varma, who blocks Inner City Press on Twitter, described with a straight face a one-man "debate" on May 7, Guterres as Dear Leader, and said there are not criteria or rules under which Inner City Press and others are not having letters and CVs blocked. It's just corruption.

Guterres will do anything for a 2d term.

Including giving out jobs, during the campaign, to people who were supposed to oversee him. With all due respect, it is a conflict of interest. On April 26, "United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Courtenay Rattray of Jamaica as High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States...  Currently Permanent Representative of Jamaica to the United Nations in New York, Mr. Rattray also serves as Co-chair of the Group of Friends of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Financing; Children and the SDGs; as well as the Group of Friends of Decent Work.  He has served as Chairperson of several key initiatives, including the 52nd session of the Commission on Population and Development (CPD52) in 2019, Co-facilitator for the Conclusions and Recommendations of the 2018 Financing for Development Forum...  Prior to his current position, he was Ambassador of Jamaica to the People’s Republic of China in Beijing (2008-2013)." We'll have more on this - Inner City Press is still banned from the UN, no answers to questions, we will not cease.

Bozkir's spokesman Brendan Varma, who blocks Inner City Press on Twitter, continues to dance around what the rules are and won't answer.

So, as a test - and to raise the issue of the UN's lack of content neutral media access rules, lack of a Freedom of Information Act (fought for the Free UN Coalition for Access) and lack of scruples - Inner City Press on the morning of February 26 submitted a signed letter and C.V. to the PGA's Office and to Varma.  Since then, four weeks of dodging and blockage, now of four. And this:

Pakistan supports Guterres, here. Apparently, Paul Biya's Cameroon and other states like that of narco Juan Orlando Hernandez are asked to be more quiet with their support for their favorite dictator supporter, Antonio Guterres, for now. Watch this site.
