UN Cravenly Recalls Çavuşoğlu Read Out Here As Blinken Calls Him Turkish Prime Minister

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Maxwell Book
BBC-Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN NY Mag

SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 17 –   In the UN on May 18, Turkey's foreign minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu's meeting were full of mis-statements and craven corrections.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called Çavuşoğlu the Turkish "prime minister," giving rise to a correction that highlighted what had been mis-said.

Not so the United Nations, which trafficks in collusion and censorship, banning Inner City Press and refusing all of its written questions including this one.

The UN posted this: "Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with    H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey      The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.      The Secretary-General expressed appreciation for Turkey’s support to multilateralism and contributions to the United Nations. The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister also exchanged views on the war in Ukraine and other regional developments. They also discussed developments related to Syria, Libya, Afghanistan as well as Cyprus.        New York, 18 May 2022."

Then, at 1:07 pm, the UN alerted: "The readout concerning the Secretary-General’s meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister is being recalled.  A revised text will come out shortly.  We apologise for the error." Photo here.

Apologize to whom? Apparently, to Turkey. Because despite the "will come out shortly" reference, four hours later and counting, nothing. UNSG Antonio Guterres emulates and does not want to anger strongmen, whether in Moscow or Istanbul, even Yaounde.

Today's UN is corrupt, and continues to ban the Press that asks questions. And the US Mission, and Blinken, have done nothing about it. Watch this site.
