UN Guterres Pressless Presser Bans UN Rape Cameroon and Corruption Questions

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon YouTube
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - CJR - PFT

UN GATE, Feb 4 – UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres first threw the investigative Press out of the UN, then even to the pliant state media he left in, canceled his scheduled press conference on January 28. Instead he held a closed door meeting - which banned Inner City Press live-streamed (I, II, III) and now posts portions of on YouTube, here.

Then on February 4, a full 35 days into 2020, Guterres belatedly held his "beginning of the year" press conference. Two hours before it, evidence of yet more UN rapes and sexual abuse, in Darfur and South Sudan, was data dumped. Inner City Press immediately in writing asked Guterres, spokesman Stephen Dujarric and head censor Melissa Fleming about it - but not answer, even three hours after Guterres' press conference.

During the press conference, despite 60% of the UN supposed work (and rapes) being in Africa, there were no such questions as UNCA Italiano, and state media from Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and others asked repetitive softball questions. Banned Inner City Press thread here, alongside SDNYLIVE trial of CIA leaks here, and a radio appearance in Brooklyn about corruption and... the UN, here. We'll have more on this.

After Guterres' January 28 closed door meeting, and ten hours before this publication, Inner City Press in writing asked UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric and Melissa Fleming, "January 28-2: On SG Guterres' statements at his January 28 Town Hall, and that questions to him, what is his response to and action if any on the questions from staff in Addis Ababa, about the lowest paid, least secured people working for the UN?

January 28-3: On SG Guterres' statements at his January 28 Town Hall, and that questions to him, what is his response to and action if any on the questions about "UNOPS contracts" and (from Brindisi) on outsourcing?"

Ten hours, no answers, despite Dujarric's on camera promise, and written promises from Fleming's department. Instead, she does propaganda interviews with in house scribes. We'll have more on that, and this expanding corruption. Watch this site.
