April 8 – New York City
officials on Tuesday announced
the indictment of 16 people
for "allegedly committing 21
shootings over several months.
LA World operated out of the
New York City Housing
Authority’s Lehman and AK
Houses, while Wuski operated
out of NYCHA’s Johnson Houses.
Nine LA World defendants and
seven Wuski defendants are
charged in two separate
indictments."
Inner City
Press went to the press
conference, which included
Mayor Eric Adams and NYPD
Commissioner Jessica Tisch,
and asked if consideration had
been give to Federalizing the
case to the U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York, where
Inner City Press is covering
for example another Upper
Manhattan gang case.
DA
Alvin Bragg replied that there
is a division of labor,
linking narcotics cases to the
Federal prosecutors - of which
Bragg was one - and guns to
the state.
The arraignments
proceedings on the 7th floor
