SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
April 21 – A man
convicted of bank fraud in
Virginia who had his
supervision transferred in
February to the U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York was
brought on March 28 before
SDNY Magistrate Judge James L.
Cott on violations of
supervised release. Inner City
Press was there, the only
media in the SDNY Mag court.
The
AUSA said that "Ready, Willing
and Able" has not helped the
defendant.
Judge Cott
inquired, adding that if not
there, he could be at the
Bellevue Men's Shelter.
Ultimately he was
ordered released, but would
see the assigned District
Judge in the future.
Jump cut to
October 10, 2024 - Price was
back before Judge Analisa
Torres. His Federal Defender
said he is living with an
altruist named Lou, and that
because of TBI - traumatic
brain injury - Federal
Defenders sends a car to pick
him up for every court
appearance. Probation
suggested a program in
Orangeburg.
With a proceeding
set for April 28, 2025,
Federal Defenders on April 14
wrote in asking for a time
served sentence.
On April 21 the
US Attorney's Office wrote in
asking for 21 months.
The case is
USA v. Price, 1:24-cr-106
(Torres)
