SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Aug 22 – Michael D'Angelo was
arrested on May 22, 2023 in
The Bronx, for home invasion
robberies in which he
impersonated law enforcement.
A search
of his residence found guns
and bullets (as well as a law
enforcement badge).
On August
25, 2025 D'Angelo was brought
by U.S. Marshals in to the
courtroom of U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Paul G. Gardephe. Inner City
Press was there, the only
media in the courtroom.
The
stand-in Federal Defender
asked for a schedule to file
both a motion to suppress, and
a motion to dismiss.
Jump cut to May
3, 2024, when D'Angelo pled
guilty to Count 1, with no
plea agreement but a Pimentel
(estimate of sentencing
guideline) range.
On August 22 the
Federal Defender wrote in
asking for time served for
D'Angelo, with sentencing set
for September 5 at 10 am.
The case is
US v. D'Angelo, 23-cr-327
(Gardephe)
