COURTHOUSE,
Sept 16 – A man charged with
mailing meth to New Zealand
and Australia as well as New
York City was up for
sentencing on September 16
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Analisa Torres.
Inner City Press was there,
the only media in the
courtroom. From the thread:
Chen: I am sorry
for my scary, horrible crime
Judge: How much
money did he make?
AUSA: $500,000
plus. His wife purchased a
million dollar home.
Judge: Has it
been forfeited?
AUSA: No. It is
in Garden City.
Judge: I sentence
you to ten years in prison.
Then, she said, he will likely
be deported back to
China.
The case is
US v. Chen, 22-cr-125 (Torres)
