SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 13 – Without prior
announcement, and without a
docket number, Emmanuel
Skountzos pleaded guilty to
tax crimes on September 13,
2023 before U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Sarah L.
Cave. Inner City Press was the
only media there.
Skountzos
allocuted to under-reporting
over $300,000 in taxes in
2015. The AUSA added that he
used check cashing stores in
Manhattan. (Since the case is
or was not in PACER, research
on the Internet indicates he's
based in Brooklyn).
His plea
deal is for 18 to 24 months.
The AUSA said the case has
been referred to District
Judge Paul G. Gardephe. We'll
have more on this.
For now the case
is US v. Skountzos, 23-cr-473
(Gardephe)
