SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 13 – In June 2017 Doctor
Clyde Pemberton after
interacting with three women,
one of them unconscious, in
his Harlem MIST restaurant was
arrested for false
imprisonment. He
sued.
On November 13,
2023 Pemberton was on the
witness stand being cross
examined by the City's lawyer.
He was asked
about his 2019 deposition, and
if he knew that his son had
seen a video of the incident
the day after it happened. He
said no, and the City's lawyer
said it was a good time to
take a break. U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Lorna G. Schofield said she
agreed. Inner City Press was
in the courtroom, and also
took a break.
The
complaint describes NYPD
taking their information from
"a blond woman, and
quotes one of the two women
calling him the N-word.
The case is
Pemberton, et al., v. City of
New York, et al., 18-cv-7908
(Schofield)
