SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Feb 18 – A defendant charged
with at least three armed
robberies of smoke shops in
The Bronx came to plead guilty
on February 18 before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Analisa Torres. Inner
City Press was there, the only
media in the courtroom.
Even
with the lesser charge of
Count Five, involving the
firearm, and the conspiracy to
commit Hobbs Act robbery, the
five year minimum applied,
consecutive to any other
sentenced.
Judge
Torres said the guidelines are
130 to 147 months. The
defendant asked if she had
said 135. She had not.
His guilty
plea was accepted. The
complaint has security video
stills from each robbery.
The case
is USA v. Jones, 1:24-cr-269
(Torres)
