SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Aug 23 – The website XXL
linked to a video of NBA star
Michael Jordan seeming to
intervene to stop a fight. The
man who says he captured the
video sued XXL's parent
Townsquare Media, under
copying.
On August 23,
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein
held a proceeding and Inner
City Press covered it.
Judge
Hellerstein asked for the
status the image and the
website. Townsquare's lawyer
said the link to the video was
removed, but the thumbnail
remained and was covered by
fair use, de minimus.
Counsel to
the videographer was asked if
they would go forward. Yes,
seemed to be the answer. Judge
Hellerstein said if the
thumbnail was also removed,
the chances of him awarding
anything substantial would be
slim. He set a next date for
September 27.
The case
is Richardson v.
