Man Pleading To Rubbing Against Woman On Subway May Get Halfway House By Xmas

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Dec 3 – Brian Washington came from Indiana to New York as a sex offender and did not register. He has been in Essex County Jail since January.

On December 3 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge George B. Daniels held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

Washington's Federal Defender argued that he should be sentenced right away, and freed to a halfway house. She said her client was willing to consent to a computer search condition, as part of his treatment.

Washington confessed to rubbing up against a woman on and subway for sexual gratification - but said he was pursued a culinary job, and is a registered voted.

Judge Daniels as is his way got involved, and asked Probation to see if they can identify a bed in a halfway house in the next two weeks then to come back.

The case is US v. Washington, 16-cr-628 (Daniels)
