Man Charged With Trafficking Guns from NC To Canal St Has July 2025 Trial If Same Lawyer

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Aug 27 – A man charged with illegally transporting firearms from North Carolina by bus to 103 Canal Street in Chinatown in Manhattan was arraigned on August 27 before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Denise L. Cote. Inner City Press was there, the only media in the courtroom.

Judge Cote often moves comparatively quickly to set trial dates. But in this case the defense lawyer said he has other trials in early 2025.

So Judge Cote set this one for July 15, 2025. She told the defendant, if he wants a faster trial, she would be willing to substitute in a new CJA counsel - but the request would have to be made before the end of September 2024.

The case is US v. Rosario, 24-cr-497 (Cote)
