TVPA Case Against Abercrombie and Family Office Not Stayed Despite EDNY Subpoena

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Aug 23 – Under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, Abercombie & Fitch, The Jefferies Family Office and two individuals were sued by a model who alleged he was told if he did not allow himself to be coerced into sex, he could not have the modeling jobs and career.

On August 23, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Jennifer H. Rearden held a proceeding, to deny defendants' motion to stay the case in light of an EDNY subpoena. Inner City Press covered it. Thread:

OK - now in Trafficking Victims Protection Act case by male model(s) against Abercrombie & Fitch and The Jeffries Family Office,

SDNY judge is reading her ruling on defendants motion to stay the case against them, based on an EDNY criminal subpoena.

Judge: Here, nothing suggests that plaintiff was ever notified by the Government of the pending investigation. Plaintiff was interviewed by the FBI, but given no other information. He was not notified under the TVPA - nothing in writing

Judge: Thus, defendants' motion for a stay is denied without prejudice. If they come into possession of further information, they may move again. This constitutes the order of the court. I'll issue a notice of an IPTC. Adjourned.

The case is Bradberry v. Abercrombie & Fitch Co., et al., 23-cv-9440 (Rearden)
