Guilty as Felon in Possession

May 30 – A man who fled police
in The Bronx on July 19, 2024
when they say they saw a gun
in his sweatpants pockets came
to plead guilty on May 30 in
the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Magistrates Court, which
Inner City Press covers
closely.
The
Complaint recounts police
spotting him going into a
bodega, and later "blading"
his body, then seeking to get
away and being tackled.
He has
previous felony gun
convictions; he pled to felony
in possession of a gun.
Detention was continued with a
sentencing control date of
August 28.
The case
is USA v. Torres, 1:25-cr-250
