Man Arrested for Gun in Sweatpants in The Bronx Pleads Guilty as Felon in Possession

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 30 – A man who fled police in The Bronx on July 19, 2024 when they say they saw a gun in his sweatpants pockets came to plead guilty on May 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrates Court, which Inner City Press covers closely.

The Complaint recounts police spotting him going into a bodega, and later "blading" his body, then seeking to get away and being tackled.

He has previous felony gun convictions; he pled to felony in possession of a gun. Detention was continued with a sentencing control date of August 28.

The case is USA v. Torres, 1:25-cr-250 (Caproni)
