COURTHOUSE,
Oct 23 – A woman who pled
guilty to selling thirteen
guns to a Confidential
Information, including one
semi-automatic and one stolen
gun, was up for sentencing on
August 27 before U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Jennifer L. Rochon. Inner City
Press was there.
The
defendant is 29 years old; her
mother also went to jail. But
this defendant has worked
toward her GED diplomat while
incarcerated, Judge Rochon
noted.
After a break,
she returned and imposed a
sentence not of a year and a
day, as requested by the
defense, nor the five year
maximum, but rather of three
years.
On October 10,
for co-defendant Chen, Federal
Defenders requested the same
three years.
On October 16,
the US Attorney's Office wrote
in on Chen, asking for 108
months.
On October 23
Chen was sentenced to 84 month
- seven years.
The case is
US v. Chen, et al., 24-cr-77
(Rochon)
