SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 11 – Daniel Lastres was in
Washington Square Park on
September 13, 2020 when a
bottle was thrown at NYPD.
Lastres was holding a bottle,
and was arrested. The case was
dismissed and sealed on
September 10, 2021. He sued.
On May 11, 2023, U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Judge
Ronnie Abrams held a
proceeding. Inner City Press
covered it.
The City's
lawyer said they have
body-worn camera video of
Lastres being in the park too
late, and running into a
"dark" area of the park.
Additional
medical records were
requested, while a demand from
plaintiff is being considered.
Lastres had a metacarpal bone
fracture of his right arm.
The case is
Lastres v. City Of New York et
al., 21-cv-10742 (Abrams)
