The
indictment,
initially
sealed,
describes two
co-conspirators
sending De
Lantigua
proposed
threats,
demanding that
a victim pay a
"fine" in
order to avoid
harm to the
victim's
family.
Each
time, the
indictment
says, De
Lantigua
replied "Si."
The US
Attorney's
Office agreed
that she could
be released,
that day, on
her own
signature,
with two weeks
for two
financially
responsible
people to
co-sign a
$50,000 bond.
She can travel
to the
District of
Connecticut,
where she
works.
She
pled guilty in September
2023 and January
24, 2024 was
sentenced to
time served.
On
August 6, her male
co-defendant was
arraigned
before Judge
Rakoff, and
Inner City
Press was
there. Judge
Rakoff read him the
indictment, set a
September
19 conference
for motions on
discovery -
and a December 2
trial date.
The
case is US v.
De
Lantigua,
23-cr-93
