SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Sept 12 – A man who was
indicted and pled guilty in
connection with narcotics
importation from Ecuador to
the US appeared on September
12 before U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Katherine Polk
Failla, for a change of
counsel. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
courtroom.
Federal
Defenders had been his
counsel, but now he wanted a
change for sentencing.
The day's duty
CJA lawyer was in the gallery,
then at the defense table.
He took over the
case, and committed to call
and then write in to propose a
new sentencing date.
The case
is USA v. Munoz Gallon,
22-cr-357 (Failla)
