SDNY COURTHOUSE, Oct 30 – Jancey Valle was sentenced to 151 months in prison by then U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Katherine B. Forest on February 28, 2014, for crimes involving impersonating police for drug trafficking violence.

On July 22 SDNY Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein, to whom Valle's many appeals and entreaties have been assigned, held a compassionate release hearing. Inner City Press covered it.

From the beginning, Judge Hellerstein's questions concerned where Valle would stay, and how he gets along with his father. He said he sentences more generously than his predecessor.

And by the end, he granted compassionate release, with a one year term of home incarceration allowing exit to work.

Jump cut to October 29, 2024 when another defendant in the case, called in the docket Manuel Piminteo (actually, Pimintel) was back in the SDNY Mag Court on violations of supervised release involving drugs. His lawyer said last time in the MDC he was assaulted in 48 hours, for reasons she said she could explain at sidebar. Later in open court she said it was about someone close to him. He was ordered detained.

The case is US v. Camacho, et al., 13-cr-58 (Hellerstein)
