SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 20 – Amit Patel paid
$76,275 in advance for Clane
Gessel Studio to photograph
and video record his daughter
Anisha Patel's May 2022
wedding in Bodrum,
Turkey.
But Clane Gassel,
Patel says, at the eleventh
hour demanded to be put up at
the Mandarin Hotel Bodrum (and
not Doubletree), and to have
another photograph work on the
shoot.
Patel hired
a replacement, and sued Gassel
and his company for breach of
contract.
On November 20,
2023, new U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Magistrate Judge
Robyn F. Tarnofsky held a
conference. Inner City Press
covered it.
Plaintiff's
counsel suggested that
Gessel's motion to dismiss be
withdrawn without prejudice,
and that a settlement
conference or mediation be
scheduled.
Gessel's lawyer
said he had to speak with his
client. Judge Tarnofsky asked
for to be informed of the
parties' positions by Monday,
November 27 at 5 pm.
The case
is Patel v. Clane Gessel
Studio, 22-cv-10964 (Woods /
Tarnofsky)
