SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 1 –
Ronald
Baldwin was
indicted in
1992; he
served 17
years in
prison.
On March 1,
2023 U.S.
District Court
for the
Southern
District of
New York Judge
Gregory H.
Woods held a
Violation of
Supervised
Release
proceeding.
Inner City
Press was
there, the
only media in
the
courtroom.
The
docket
reflects that
an SDNY
warrant was
issued for
Baldwin's
arrest in
2007, by
then-Judge
Peter K.
Leisure.
(Previously on
Baldwin's case
were
then-Magistrate
Judge Naomi R.
Buchwald in
1992, and
Judge Louis J.
Freeh in
1993.)
The
charge? Fare
jumping. Judge
Woods, after
Baldwin pled
guilty to the
specification,
gave a time
served
sentence and
wished Baldwin
well, trying
to put his
life back
together. The
case is US v.
Baldwin,
92-cr-1124
(Woods)
