COURTHOUSE,
Aug 21 – A defendant who pled
guilty in a drug case in 2018
with the transcript ordered
sealed came to plead guilty to
two violations of supervised
release on August 21 before
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Gregory H. Woods. Inner
City Press was there.
In some
such cases, sentencing
immediately followed the
guilty plea to specifications.
But here,
Judge Woods pointed out that
he has not judge for the case
at the time of the first plea.
So he asked
for an additional defense
submission, by September 3,
for a sentencing on September
5 at noon.
The
Assistant US Attorney who had
said he would make his
arguments orally at the
sentencing and not in writing,
then added he'd be asking to
seal the sentencing
transcript.
The case
is US v. Hernandez, 18-cr-155
(Woods)
