Sept 6 – A
woman charged
with selling
fake COVID-19
vaccination
cards told a
Federal judge
on June 16,
2023 that her
lawyer Todd
Spodek, who
previously
represented
Anna Sorokin,
was good but
"I can't
afford him."
Inner City
Press was

The
complaint said
the defendant
Danielle
Siegel also
used the name
Danielle
Cohen.
She
told fake CDC
vaccination
cards for
cash; a
college did
not accept her
work, saying
it did not
correspond to
the NYS
vaccine
database.
U.S.
District Court
of for the
Southern
District of
New York
District Judge
Lewis J. Liman
told the
defendant that
she has a
right to a
publicly-paid
lawyer, but
not the lawyer
of her choice.
She
said she
understood,
and a break
was taken for
her to fill
out the CJA-23
financial
affidavit.
Counsel was
replaced, and
"The Status
Conference
previously set
for July 11,
2023 is
rescheduled to
August."
On
August 9 the
trial was set:

Siegal
moved to
suppress the
search of
garbage
outside her
residence in
Flushing,
Queens - and
submitted the
lists of items
taken.
On
April 24, days
before the
hearing, the
parties wrote
in that Siegel
has signed a
plea
agreement. It
sets for a
Guideline
sentence of
six to 12
months in
prison and a
fine range of
$4000 to
$40,000.
On
May 30, Siegel
actually pled
guilty:
"Change of
Plea Hearing
as to Danielle
Siegel held on
5/30/2024.
Sentencing set
for September
13, 2023."
On
August 30,
Siegal through
counsel asked
for no jail
time,
probation.
On
September 6,
the US
Attorney's
Office wrote
in asking for
six months.
