SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 12 – Nicholas Falu was up
for sentencing on December 7
after pleading guilty to
selling oxy and pot on Elliot
Place in the Bronx near Walton
Avenue.
On
December 7, 2020 U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Judge Sidney H. Stein
held the sentencing. Inner
City Press covered
it.
The US Attorney
was asking for 37 to 46
months. Judge Stein asked
questions, including his now
standard Why did you do it? He
likes an honest answer.
He told Falu, I
think you are going to be OK,
and sentenced him to a year
and a day, saying that would
work out to 10 months.
Jump cut more
than two years to December 29,
2022 when Judge Stein docketed
an order that he had held a
conference that day and
co-defendant Samuel Sosa would
be detained, but not at the
MDC..
Jump cut again to
June 12, 2025 when
co-defendant Cruz was remanded
on a VOSR.
The case is US v.
Falu, 19-cr-795 (Stein)
