SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Feb 7 – Anthony Bonilla is
charged with being part of a
fenantyl by mail
conspiracy.
On
September 20, 2023 he was
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Paul A. Crotty on
violations of the conditions
of his pre-trial release.
Inner City Press was there.
Discussed
were ventures (slightly)
outside his house, to a
basketball court. Judge Crotty
said he was young and
admonished him to do better.
But no
remand, he said, for now.
On May 8, 2024,
with the overall case
re-assigned to Judge Paul A.
Engelmayer, co- (and lead-)
defendant Jose Santiago pled
guilty to Count 1, with
sentencing set for September
17 at 10:30 am.
It got extended
to February 10 and on February
3, 2025 the US Attorney's
Office wrote in asking for 180
months. The defendant has
asked for less than 168
months, in a heavily redacted
submission. On February 7,
counsel for the defendant
asked for permission for his
19 year old daughter to speak
at sentencing.
The case is
US v. Santiago, et al.,
23-cr-257 (Crotty)
