SDNY MAG COURT EXCLUSIVE, Nov 6 -  In the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on August 16, two arraignments in a single case were held by Magistrate Judge Barbara C. Moses.

The defendants had been presented and released on bond with GPS bracelets in July. Now they had been indicted.

The lead defendant Axel Jesus Cardona Cardona speaks English. His co-defendant Cruz Alejandro Baires Navoa followed him in pleading not guilty, but through an interpreter.

They were arrested in July and charged with selling one brick of cocaine in a parking lot in the Bronx. The initial complaint referred to Axel as Alex, but that was fixed.

Now the case has been assigned to District Judge Torres.

Jump cut to November 6 when the prosecutors wrote in, before Baires Novoa's November 14 sentencing, to after for 37 months. For Carmona Carmona, the US wants 46 months.

The case is US v. Carmona Carmona, et al., 22-cr-434 (Torres)
